...Not only that, but Neil Gaiman wrote a short story (like many authors including H.P. Lovecraft) about Cthulhu! If I stressed "How Cthulhu Works" was hilarious, you should check out an interview the Great Old One gave a Sir Whateley about how he became the greatest, most sadistic god you could create a cult for. At first he isn't such a bad guy. Just a little tentacle thing wanting some fun.
So what makes this sleeping giant so entertaining? It could involve the cults surrounding him- well not really, I haven't done that much research... Or just the sheer terror of his awesomeness and continent annihilating power!
It's fun to makes songs about him, like numerous bands have done. It's fun to draw pictures of him. Since in the story he's only vaguely described, now we know really know what he looks like. Or write our own stories centering around his mythos. One movie has been made based off of the above feature story. I'll review it this weekend with a special double-feature movie reviews.
Dog Soldiers- in honor of the extraordinarily large full moon on Saturday.
The Call of Cthulhu and Dagon- for my fan status.
