I fixed that problem! In that next-to-final battle, a lot of people are going to die. Or lose their limbs. This takes the characters I have to deal with out of the equation and leaves them off the page long enough for me to move on to the next sequence. A few days ago my largest problem was figuring out how to get Michael and Erika out. I wrote out on paper, the horrible things that happen to them. I never knew I would go that far.
That battle will mostly be from Sarah’s point of view. I’m considering having the perspective of one of the other officers, but I’m not sure. It would have been Eddie (originally Peter), the rude* redheaded guy from chapters 5 and 6. I’ve been thinking about his development for a while.
A few other things to mention:
*Eddie, in the novel, will be more likeable. He can’t be dick throughout and expect anyone to care about his fate.
