The incompletion of Owl People of Winnie County was a failure. I reached page 45 like a breeze and then hit a dead end.
My poem Agamemnon the Conqueror, about a dragon waking up and terrorizing a bar- and then the world- was a failure. It was eight Microsoft Word pages long. Originally I wrote it with a felt tip pen in a journal my mom had given me for my birthday. See, this is the first poem I’ve written in years. I was advised to read more poems, specifically: The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes and The Wreck of Hesperus by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Not a single word was written for Radiation Road from April 2015- December 2016. Archibald would be disappointed in my word logistics.
Plotline for an extended Mickey story was completed- novella or novel length
Forty-five pages written in a genre shift experiment
Significant portions of Ruby Caves written throughout the year
Rejuvenation of a story I haven’t touched in three years, nor mentioned. It was originally called Of Gnomes and Men in the first draft. That first draft was completed, waiting for three years. I’m calling it a success because I had no intention of bringing it back, but now it is my most genre blending story. It is currently called G. Gnome
A Look Ahead: 2016
Mutant Cowboy Space Pirate
A solo Dave story
Killing Apollo- the title is temporary and self-explanatory
G. Gnome draft two
A romance with no paranormal activity or violence is one of my top goals. That will be a real genre shift for me.
